Message summary:
To let our voice be heard in a world clamoring for direction; to listen to God's voice and tune out the myriads of other voices calling us away from Him and His purpose for our lives.

When we feel tired and all alone, we feel helpless to do anything for ourselves, let alone anyone else. Our voice cries out for help and leadership from the Lord. We want to hear the one voice—the Lord’s voice of truth, but often we let the din of other voices drown God out. We want to sit back and chill with friends, comfortable & safe. We put on our happy, confident mask and tell each other everything’s fine. Under the mask? A different story—we want to feel comfortable and safe in among friends that never judge and tell us everything will be fine. Yet we feel helpless--we put on a mask of happiness while we are here, hiding our true feelings of what is going one in our lives.

The voices we hear paint exciting pictures—places we should go, places we want to go. We think our mask makes us safe—that God can’t see our thoughts during the week. We place that mask on, and think that God can't see us. But then the world overwhelms us and we let it convince us that wrong is right, that sin is natural and God’s boundaries are more like garden borders than high-security fences. We want a God on call to supply our needs—not one that meddles in our business. We don’t have to be confused by the sound of voices and the exciting visions. Through the power of the Spirit we can filter out the lies and hear only the way of truth. Embracing the Word of God with a strong faith is the only way we can be on fire or cold as ice towards God.

We must admit our weakness and remember that none of us are perfect—only Jesus. He is the one who died for our sins so that we can live—really live—not just in eternity, but here and now. Savor every moment, live in thankfulness for his mercy, and stand in awe of his majesty! Recognize that none of us are invincible and the life we think we have under control can change in an instant, when we least expect it.

Society and even the world itself seem to crumble right in front of us. The news only heightens our frustration. We are only here for a short time—what difference does it make? We feel invisible and helpless. But the word of God tells us a different story. He has a plan. He will be victorious. And the awesome part—he wants to use *us* to make it happen. He will use us regardless, but we gain so many more blessings when we become his willing and eager servants. God chose us before the world was made—chose us not to follow the world’s path but to walk in faith and be his lights in a dark world.
